The Principality of Monaco is caters fairly well to physically disabled and wheelchair-bound residents.

Social Benefits

The Monegasque government social security system provides disabled residents of the Principality with financial benefits to help their situation.

Beaches

Monaco has a Handiplage in Larvrotto. This is a beach area that has been designed and equipped for easy wheelchair access. Staff and facilities are in place to assist the physically disabled enjoy the beach.

Nice International Airport

The following special facilities are available for people with reduced mobility: Reserved parking, wheelchairs, toilets with special access, access ramp, escalators, lift, specially equipped minibus and car. Bus with elevator, elevator platforms, rest area.

SNCF railway organisation caters to hearing and sight disabled and the physically disables and wheelchair bound passengers by providing  designated spaces and facilities marked in the carriages. in some areas, adapted transport service to the station can be provided.

S.N.C.M. 

The ferry-boat service between Nice and Corsica make allowances for disabled passengers. The ferries have lifts and travelators to facilitate access for wheelchairs.

Car Hire

Europcar and Hertz have adapted cars  - brakes and accelerator on steering wheel - available for hire to paraplegic drivers. Car must be reserved 7 days in advance.

Ulysse

Ulysse provides seven day a week transport service for the French Riviera, catering specifically to helping those with mobility problems. Easy wheelchair access and experienced staff. Also cater to transporting the elderly and infirm, the polyhandicapped, the sight impaired and disabled children to and from school.
