Satellite TV Highlights

Some English-language programmes are available on French terrestrial TV, but for a wide range of programming in VO (version originale) you need satellite or cable TV.

The satellite channels available will depend on the package that the subscriber has chosen. Canal Satellite and TPS were the two main (digital) satellite providers in France. These have now combined and have many channels, with a reasonable number of English-language programmes available on the French-language channels - including feature films, comedy, TV dramas, and documentaries - together with some English news feeds (from sources such as CNN, BBC World, Sky News and CNBC).

(Terrestrial Canal+ subscribers should be aware that many programmes listed may be available only in French on their receivers - many films, in particular, are broadcast over satellite in a digital multi-language version - VM - and only appear in English to users of satellite systems.)
