Horse Trails

A guide to the delightful horse trails to be found in and around the French Riviera.

There are planned trails for the beginner and experienced rider, which follow the old mule paths upward from Grasse to the Var, or trek through the mountains of Vésubie, Roya or the Mercantour areas. Guided walks are available through some organisations lasting from a few hours to several days.

The Estéron Valley has treks and lodging for the disabled.

The Parc Départemental de la Valmasque has 8 Km of horse-trails. There are strict rules for using the trails and it is not permitted to leave the sign posted routes at any time.

There are a number of horse-riding centres in the Alpes-Maritimes, known as Club Hippique or Centre Equestre.
