Hi,
i had the same dilemma, my dob sultan, 7 yrs old champion breed had to be left behind as we were moving from france to spain this year. Didnt know where to put him as i couldnt live with myself if i would put him in a shelter, that was no way for me. And to find people who i trust will take a good care of him and have the necessary space and time would be pretty hard. I found a solution, he used to stay in a hotel for dogs on our absences, so he knew the place well, and the lady agreed to keep him for 200 euros per month, which is a good price considering the amount of care and space such a big dog needs, but im sure you could find and arrange yourself for even less. I mean thats like 6 euros a day, the price of 2 coffees. The arrangement is that the dog is still ours, so we could pick him up, whenever we liked and also, we have regular news on how he is doing.
Good luck, but remember, whatever you do, make sure you will not regret it, the dogs are our best and most trustable friends after all. |
